Company History

How We Got Here
Track™ software is the flagship product of Management Controls Inc., a company founded in 1989 by Bob Harrell. Bob’s experience in operational auditing and finance at a major oil company led him to recognize the business process implications of contracting – a trend that was beginning to accelerate in the early 1970s. In response to the shift to outsourced labor, Management Controls conducted contractor audits and provided contract administration consulting to its early clients.

As contracting grew, accounting departments of both owners and contractors strained under a blizzard of paper timesheets and invoices. In 1994, Management Controls addressed this growing problem by creating the first Microsoft Windows version of Track software.
